Diners find themselves drawn to the communal spirit woven through the room — a space where both locals and travelers gather around generous platters, sharing in the familiar pleasure of hearty, well-crafted dishes. The service, while occasionally navigating the busy pulse of a popular spot, often reflects genuine attentiveness, ensuring the experience never feels rushed but rather a gentle invitation to linger.

From the first sip of Bosnian coffee to the last bite of a delicately sweet baklava, every moment is steeped in flavors grounded in tradition yet refreshingly sincere. The grill plates, with their rich variety of meats, exude a sense of celebration — dishes made to be enjoyed slowly, accompanied by local wines or a crisp beer from Mostar, turning a meal here into a quiet ceremony of comfort and discovery. Side dishes, like freshly prepared dolmas or regional salads, bring balance and depth, inviting reflection on the culinary heritage of the area.

In essence, Restaurant Šadrvan offers more than food; it invites you into a warm narrative of Bosnian hospitality where familiar ingredients and recipes become an everyday celebration. Whether you’re seeking a moment to rest amid explorations or a shared experience with friends, the space opens itself with an inviting, honest charm that lingers beyond the last course.

Beautiful restaurant with good food. We ordered different kind of Dolmas and Cevapi. Everything delicious. We also had the Tufahija which was also very good. We did feel ignored by the waiters at times - they wouldn’t come to check on us and other clients.

Plate “Sadrvan” mini was very delicious and we truly enjoyed it. The homemade red wine we had alongside was light and pleasant. Overall, the prices were good value for money and the portion sizes were satisfying. However, the attitude of the female waitress at the entrance was unacceptable. When we wanted to briefly look inside, she rudely told us that the restaurant was reserved and that we had to sit outside, using a harsh and unfriendly tone. This behavior does not match the quality of the restaurant. There is clearly a need for better staff training in customer communication and service. I am deducting one star solely because of this experience.

We visited Sadrvan restaurant in Mostar and were absolutely delighted! The atmosphere is authentic and cozy with a true national charm, and the service is attentive and friendly. We ordered vezirske mahmudije, Bosnian schnitzel, cevapcici grilled, Nacional plate and Klepe — every dish was incredibly delicious and generously served. What we loved most is that the food is prepared according to traditional recipes, full of rich flavors and aromas. A perfect place to experience real Bosnian cuisine in the heart of Mostar. We will definitely come back again!

Wow this was a fantastic meal and a real taste of Bosnia. It was very busy but we were found a nice table when it came available. The good was fabulous and we went on the recommendations of the server and we are glad we did. There were little tastes of everything. The baklava to finish was perfect also.

This restaurant was recommended by our tour guide, and it did not disappoint! The staff was extremely helpful. When we mentioned that we only had an hour to dine, they quickly arranged a spacious table for the two of us. Our food arrived exactly 15 minutes later, just as promised, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. We ordered a combination of meats for two, and everything was incredibly tasty with the meats prepared fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent food. We’ve been eating cevapi since we’ve been here in the Balkans almost daily but this one really stands out. We got the national plate and it was more than enough for two. The Bey soup was amazing, really soothing creamy chicken broth esp for a breezy rainy day like today. Fruit cup was great with a lot of apricots apples and some dates and topped off with ice cream and almonds. They didn’t have any drinks except filter coffee. Would have liked to ended it all with some hot tea but it was closing time and perhaps they didn’t have any more drinks at that time. Overall we loved it and would highly recommend it. There was a line as it seems to be hugely popular with tons of reviews

There was a slight hiccup when ordering (the only negative experience) but other than that it was kinda worth the wait. Was skeptical about this place at first but the food is actually good. We got the skewers and fish. Skewers were seasoned sooo well, and the fish was fresh. Portions were great too! Had their chocolate pancakes for dessert. Great way to end the evening. P.S: We had an early dinner (5PM+). Anytime later and it’ll be difficult to find a table.

An excellent place with very tasty food in an atmosphere of Herzegovinian culture. Unlike Sarajevo, where the restaurants are a cheap copy of Turkish restaurants, this place is completely authentic and doesn’t force the cultural period of the Turkish occupation of Bosnia, but focuses solely on the Herzegovinian spirit. The staff is also very kind. At one point I even wondered why Mostar isn’t the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina instead of Sarajevo, because the whole city and this restaurant gave me that impression. A fantastic place that I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone traveling to this beautiful city.
